About Subluxation

It is important to understand that a Doctor of Chiropractic does not treat symptoms or diseases.  The Doctor of Chiropractic is an expert of detecting neurological interference from spinal misalignments which affects the overall function of the body.  This interference is caused by the bones in the spine moving out of their normal position and getting stuck that way, whereby putting tremendous sustained pressure on the nerves that exit the spine, from inflammation, muscle guarding, and when left unchecked, the degenerative process as well.  The bones of the spine, the vertebrae, house and protect the spinal cord.  The spinal cord is an extension of the brain and carries information from the brain to the body parts and back to the brain again.  Subluxations interfere with the nerves ability to transmit this vital information.  The nerve system controls and coordinates the function of all the systems in the body:  circulatory, respiratory, digestive, hormonal, eliminative and immune system.  Any aspect of health may be impaired by nerve interference.  Most patients experience relief from musculoskeletal pain (neck pain, headaches, lower back pain, etc.), however, many patients also receive significant relief from visceral complications as well.  The chiropractic adjustment restores the nerve system function that allows the body the ability to express a greater state of health and wellbeing, through the restoration of optimal function.

Our office will take a case history and perform a chiropractic exam to determine if spinal subluxations exist.  Chiropractic adjusting procedures are modified to fit every person’s unique spinal condition.  We are not only gentle, we are specific to the spinal structures and conditions for that patient.  Most people report improvement within a few weeks and long term benefits in the months to come.
